New business structure set to yield new growth for Absoft
Scottish software consultancy Absoft has recorded its second-highest turnover and largest profit in its 17-year history – and a new business structure is expected to yield fresh growth over the next two years.
The Aberdeen-based company, one of the largest independent SAP consultancies in the UK, is reporting turnover and profit figures of nearly £4.5million and £380,000 respectively for the last financial year, and has brought 13 new customers on board.
In light of this success, the company has undertaken a restructuring exercise that allows it to focus on specific customer needs.
The restructuring has created two distinct teams: one focused solely on oil and gas customers, and the other upon other key business sectors such as higher education, manufacturing and not-for-profit organisations.
Managing Director Ian Mechie said: “These latest results are down to the provision of robust, leading-edge business software solutions, complemented by hard work and quality delivery on the part of our people at Absoft. They give us the foundation for further growth over the coming years.
“We have increased our staff numbers in both our business and consultancy team over the past year, employing 14 new members of staff, so we can continue to provide customers with the best possible service as the business grows.
“We are well established as a significant supplier of business software solutions in the oil and gas industry and we’re looking to build on that by broadening our portfolio of products and services. Our objective is to add a further £2 million to an already healthy 08/09 order book.
“Our track record in other industries is just as extensive and we’re determined to maintain that impetus and become further established on a nationwide basis. We have, for example, won a succession of contracts with customers in England worth more than £1million in the past 12 months.
“In terms of the way forward for Absoft, we will continue to grow steadily and maintain our focus on customer needs and successful delivery in order to achieve our long- term ambitions.”
