Chevron is one of the world’s largest integrated energy companies. In the UK, Chevron covers a broad spectrum of business, from finding and extracting oil and gas, to refinery operations and selling refined products. Approximately 20 Aberdeen-based staff and contractors use Chevron’s global SAP system in support of the maintenance planning function for Chevron Upstream Europe (CUE).

Early in 2007 Chevron issued new worldwide standards for maintenance planning. CUE recognised the need to improve its processes in order to meet these new standards and so it commissioned a comprehensive audit of its SAP maintenance planning processes.

Absoft carried out the audit following its standard Process Audit Service Methodology. The recommendations resulting from the audit led to increased efficiency and a more strategic approach to maintenance planning processes.
