For the third year running Absoft is continuing to support local Aberdeen charity Cornerstone Community Care. This year Absoft is proud sponsors of the t-shirts, as well as continuing to sponsor the first leg of the journey from Aberdeen to London. The 2008 Challenge will continue on the World Tour Theme set by the 2007 challenge. In its fourth year, the Cornerstone Cycle Challenge begins on Tuesday 23rd September for a grueling 21 day test of stamina, determination and teamwork. Teams of cyclists aim to cycle as far as they can on static bikes onshore and offshore throughout the 21 day event. Teams will cycle on a 15,770 mile course which will take them from Aberdeen to London, across to Paris then passing through Dubai and Hong Kong and on to Moscow before ending up back in Aberdeen. Managing director Ian Mechie is a keen cyclist himself who took part in an epic cross-country bike adventure in June 2007 to raise money for community projects in Africa. He said: “This challenge is an excellent way for organisations and individual groups to increase their fitness improve their health and raise money for a good cause at the same time”. “Cornerstone carries out vital work in our community and we are pleased to be supporting them during the all-important first stage of the Challenge. We would urge other businesses to get behind Cornerstone and help with this worthy cause”. Absoft has a team of 12 staff competing and hope to hold a variety of fundraising activities within the office, including an international food recipe book, to collectively raise their sponsorship. Cornerstone is one of Scotland's largest charities and a leading provider of services for adults and children with learning disabilities. Absoft supports Cornerstone in a variety of ways, from sponsoring and attending charitable events, to taking part in the annual Cornerstone Cycle challenge. Please sponsor us now! Press Coverage
