Total E&P (UK) PLC was an early adopter of SAP software, and has used the Plant Maintenance module for many years to manage its planned maintenance.

In order to streamline the inspection process for hazardous area equipment (HAE) located offshore, Total adopted handheld Radio Frequency Identification Technology (RFID) technology, and Absoft helped to develop an interface to transfer technical and business data between the handheld units and Total’s SAP system.

As well as enhancing the efficiency of the HAE inspection process, Absoft’s involvement has improved planning capability, management information quality, and data accuracy and integrity.
