Total Exploration & Production UK (TEPUK) - Safety Critical Element Reporting Tool

TEPUK’s principal goal is to achieve safe operations. Assuring the integrity of the plant is fundamental to achieving this.

At the core of TEPUK’s asset integrity program is assuring the status of SCEs. SCEs are systems, subsystems and items of equipment whose failure could result in a hazard, or whose malfunction could reduce the ability to control, mitigate or escape from a hazard.

Since 1995, TEPUK’s inspection and maintenance activities have been successfully managed using SAP. Prior to the commissioning of the SCE Reporting Workbench, significant manual effort was required to extract, reorganise and report on the CMMS data to satisfy the regulatory obligation associated with safety critical elements.

Absoft assisted a cross-functional TEPUK team to specify, develop and test an SCE Reporting Workbench, bringing visibility to data that TEPUK holds in SAP on over 150,000 safety critical tagged items. Using a highly intuitive “traffic light” system, the workbench provides a clear display of the live status of all SCE inspection and maintenance activities - both planned and corrective on the relevant asset.
