Absoft celebrates 10 years and record financial results
Aberdeen based software company Absoft has marked its tenth anniversary by posting record year-end financial results, breaking the £1m turnover mark for the first time in the company’s history.
Frank Park, Absoft’s Business Development Director said: “Hitting the million mark represents a major milestone for us. The substantial investments we have made in recruitment, staff development and technology have delivered steady year-on-year growth for Absoft and this pattern is set to continue. We have established aggressive targets for this new financial year and beyond, and achievement of these will see the company’s staff numbers increase significantly above the current level of 25.”
Absoft was established by 3 IT consultants in 1991 to provide software development services to oil and gas sector companies. These activities remain an important strand of the company’s business today and now form part of a comprehensive set of infrastructure and software support services.
These are offered alongside Absoft’s main specialism, the provision of SAP consultancy services. Absoft became involved in SAP project work in 1992 and since then has assisted numerous customers in the implementation, development and support of their SAP systems. The company’s high quality services and commitment to SAP were recognised by SAP UK in 1999, with the award of Partner status.
The same year saw Absoft relocate to Grampian Enterprise’s flagship building Davidson House on Aberdeen’s Science and Technology Park, to accommodate an expanding team and provide facilities and infrastructure suitable for the development of the business.
The company’s growing customer list, once consisting solely of Aberdeen-based organisations, now increasingly features those based further afield, including the Middle East, South America and the Far East. Absoft is also successfully diversifying into new sectors including pharmaceuticals, education and information services.
