Industry experts to demonstrate best practice in inventory management
Operators and oilfield service companies are being invited to hear from two business software experts at an event aimed at promoting best practice in inventory management in the upstream oil and gas sector, later this month (Thursday, August 30), in Aberdeen.
Hosted by specialist software consultancy Absoft, one of the leading independent SAP consultancies in the UK, the forum, which is free to attend, is aimed at supply chain decision makers at companies in the sector who use SAP software.
In this latest SAP oil and gas supply chain forum, delegates will hear from one of Absoft’s leading oil and gas solution architects Bjorn Harzer, who will provide delegates with advice on how best to optimise their inventory using the data already available in their SAP system.
Karen Studley, a principal consultant from Hexarus Consulting, a specialist provider of performance management and business intelligence solutions which was acquired by Absoft earlier this year, will then demonstrate practical examples of inventory analytics which can help an oil and gas company effectively manage its stock holdings and measure how well it is servicing customers in the finance and projects departments.
Tim Galloway, sales manager at Absoft who is facilitating the forum said: “This event is part of a series of open forums which we have been created to bring together decision makers from companies across the sector to discuss common issues and receive advice from SAP experts in the field.
“Inventory management can be a challenge due to the multitude of items in stock and the fact that data is often held in an unstructured way. This forum will show delegates how they can use SAP software to establish a consistent view of stock holdings, and measure and improve stock positions, resulting in substantial resource and cost savings.”
