Downhole Products recognised the need for a major overhaul of its IT landscape and capabilities through the implementation of an integrated approach throughout each of its global subsidiaries. Its parent company launched a worldwide roll out of a new SAP system, and therefore a global SAP Implementation. This combined its financial and commercial needs while supporting its core operations through additional sales and distribution, production planning and inventory management modules.
Our case study covers how we completed the SAP implementation and localisation of a global SAP template. We cover added value, improved operational efficiency, decision-making, and finally service delivery.
As a result – Downhole Products have more controls in place and a formal system to follow. The company has seen the impact on its operations straight away. Previously they captured information across multiple locations and varying formats. Subsequently, this created a gap when tracking work, as materials had different reference numbers in different systems. This took up valuable resources. Instant recording and financing of sales orders, invoices and sales materials is now the norm. Additionally, company purchases of stock, or trades between subsidiaries are now instantly updated in their SAP system.
In other words, the information is available at the touch of a button.
