Specialist IT consultancy Absoft Limited has secured a six-figure contract to provide human resources and payroll services across Gulf Offshore’s interests in the UK and Norway.
The contract marks a significant stride towards Absoft’s goal of adding a further £2million to its already healthy 2008/09 order book.
Under the agreement, Absoft will implement its pioneering Advantage HCM (Human Captial Management) for Oil and Gas Solution, which has been designed specifically to meet the needs of mid-market companies operating within the energy sector.

Providing a single source of data relating to payroll, training and all associated employee records, Advantage HCM for Oil an Gas integrates seamlessly with other areas of the business, such as finance – increasing efficiency and productivity, lowering costs and improving workforce-related decision making.
The solution is also scalable, supporting best practice, legal compliance and other reporting requirements in over 45 countries worldwide, which is an essential element in today’s competitive global marketplace.

Gulf Offshore, which currently uses SAP ERP 6.0, as its Accounting and Procurement IT solution, provides offshore marine services primarily to companies involved in offshore exploration and production of oil and natural gas. Its vessels transport drilling materials and supplies to offshore facilities, move and position drilling rigs, as well as providing subsea support and emergency rescue and recovery services.
