Specialist SAP consultancy Absoft has won a contract to implement a new software package for oil and gas major Total E&P UK Limited designed to improve process efficiency, reduce errors and increase visibility of invoices.
The Aberdeen-based software firm has just completed an installation of ReadSoft’s Documents for Invoices, an automated online invoice scanning solution, where data is electronically read and analysed from a paper invoice simplifying Accounts Payable postings and workflow of invoices for approval.
Total E&P UK Limited is already matching 40% of materials invoices in its SAP system first time in the short time since the system launched.
The E-invoicing solution also allows invoice information to be accessed quickly and easily via Total’s intranet, reducing processing time and minimizing the risk of sensitive data being lost through manual error.
The solution is also helping to cut Total’s carbon footprint by reducing paper usage.
As a value added reseller for ReadSoft in the UK, Absoft also handled Total E&P UK Limited’s licence agreement, which involved the purchase of licences to process 30,000 invoices per year.

Total E&P UK Limited is the fourth-largest operator in the UK sector of the North Sea and one of the largest exploration and production subsidiaries of the TOTAL Group in terms of production and reserves.
