Global independent SAP consultancy Absoft has strengthened its position in the energy and education sectors, as it announces strong financial results for a second year running in spite of the ongoing economic downturn.
Aberdeen-headquartered Absoft, which supplies SAP software, consultancy and support services, secured turnover of £4.9million and pre-tax profits around £155,000.
The company added some 18 clients to its roster during the course of the year, with a particular focus on the oil and gas, and higher and further education sectors
Absoft has also strengthened its team, with the addition of a group of five new graduate consultants to its base of operations in the Granite City.
Absoft managing director Ian Mechie says: “The challenges which have the international market has faced continued to push businesses worldwide over the last year, so we are very pleased to have maintained a strong financial standing once again.
“Turnover of £4.9million has not reached the heights we had pushed onward to in 2008/9, however it is a stronger figure than we had achieved in 2007/8, at the start of the downturn.
“We have worked hard to reduce costs where possible, while continuing to ensure that we are delivering value to our ever-expanding client base through a network of consultants whose combined knowledge and capability continue to make us the leading independent SAP practice in the UK.”
Absoft has made a major impact in the further education sector in the past year, adding eight universities to its client roster, while it has continued to strengthen its portfolio in the energy sector, with its specialist oil and gas division – only its second year – attracting seven new clients in the UKCS and Europe.
“The addition of these clients in what are key market areas for us bodes well for the year ahead and we are delighted to have further strengthened our client base on an international level,” adds Mr Mechie.
“Our oil and gas team continues to grow – in two years it has become an integral and fundamental part of our business strategy.”
The company is also working with energy conversion provider Converteam, metals trader LN Metals, publishers IBS-STL and communications giant Cable & Wireless.
