Oil and gas supply chain issues will be the focus for a special interest group forum aimed at operators and oilfield service companies in Aberdeen this week.
Hosted by leading independent SAP consultancy and software firm Absoft, the forum, which will be held on Thursday October 17, is aimed at key supply chain decision makers in upstream oil and gas who utilise SAP software.
The free event includes presentations from experienced Absoft consultants about how SAP can overcome the challenges of executing supply chain activities during CAPEX projects.
The forum will also include a discussion about SAP mobility and a demonstration of SAP Fiori apps. This will focus on how the apps can streamline frequently used procurement transactions, improving ease of use and ability to execute these activities at any location from desktop or mobile devices.
Scott Simpson, oil and gas business unit director at Absoft said: “Bringing together key supply chain, logistics and procurement decision makers within upstream oil and gas offers us  a valuable insight into understanding the supply chain issues facing the industry and where SAP can integrate activities and streamline processes to effectively overcome these common challenges.”
The forum, which includes a networking lunch, runs from 1.00pm to 3.30pm at Absoft’s headquarters at Davidson House, Campus 1, Aberdeen Science & Technology Park, Balgownie Road.Â
