UK SAP partners Absoft have secured a significant three-year contract with Total Fina Elf in Paris to provide SAP support services to the company’s upstream subsidiaries in Argentina and Abu Dhabi.
Through the service, the two subsidiaries gain cost-effective access to Absoft’s team of SAP specialists for the resolution of technical problems. These are diagnosed and fixed remotely using secure ISDN technology.
Commenting on the contract award, Total Fina Elf’s SAP Project Manager Christian Placines explained: “Absoft’s understanding of SAP in the oil and gas environment is second to none. They have helped us implement and develop much of our upstream SAP R/3 system over the past decade and we’ve relied on them to support our operations in Aberdeen and St Fergus since 1997. When the option of outsourcing support for Abu Dhabi and Argentina came up, Absoft were the natural choice.”
Absoft’s Managing Director Ian Mechie said: “We’ve enjoyed a long, successful relationship with TFE and it’s great to see this strengthening further through the new agreement. I’m very pleased with the market’s positive reaction to our remote SAP support service. The contract with TFE illustrates how Absoft’s investments in technology are paying off, as we make inroads into new geographic areas.”
