Independent SAP consultancy Absoft has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of highly-experienced head of professional services, Eric McAdam.
Mr McAdam, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the IT sector, joins energy and higher education sector specialists Absoft, headquartered in Aberdeen, from software giant Oracle, where he acted as interim programme director.
He is former vice president of professional services and regional director of client management, telecoms and media for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at multi-national information management leader Convergys.
Mr McAdam also held vice president roles with Aspects Software, where he was responsible for managing consulting groups in California, France and the UK.
At Absoft he will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects and services for clients and management of its experienced consultancy team.
Absoft managing director, Ian Mechie, says the appointment is a significant boost to the senior management team while Eric’s in-depth knowledge of professional services, systems integration and software solutions will benefit the overall offering to the customer.
“Eric’s considerable project management experience, managing teams ranging from 5 to 200 consultants, complements the skills and expertise of our management team and further improves our offering to our clients,” says Mr Mechie.
“He will play an important role as we move forward with our strategy to build activity in our key markets of oil and gas and higher education.”
Absoft has seen strong revenue growth with a year-on-year increase of 26%, and has made a major impact in the higher and further education by adding nine universities to its client list in the last 12 months.
The firm has also continued to strengthen its portfolio in oil and gas, attracting nine new clients in the UKCS and wider Europe in the same period.
