Enterprise Asset Management Software due for UK Launch at Offshore Europe

Amongst the New Technology products at Offshore Europe this year will be WorkMate – a software package for Enterprise Asset Management developed specifically for the oil and gas industry.

Norwegian software house ADB Systemer ASA is launching the product in the UK following significant successes in Norway, where WorkMate has captured a 30% share of the market, and in the US, where the product was launched earlier this year at OTC in Houston.

WorkMate offers a complete, integrated solution for Enterprise Asset Management, comprising modules for handling Materials Management, Procurement, Maintenance, Technical Information and Management Information.  It can stand alone or act as a bolt on to popular ERP packages such as SAP or Oracle.

The software is open and integrates easily with most financial, document control and planning systems.  WorkMate is also extremely user-friendly, requiring only one day’s user training per module, and is highly flexible, such that it can be configured to accommodate a customer’s business processes rather than forcing business re-engineering.  Implementation is quick – enabling customers to obtain a rapid return on their investment and begin to reap the benefits of enhanced efficiency and cost savings immediately.

Having been developed specifically for asset intensive industries, WorkMate incorporates best practice and experience drawn from major oil and gas operators and service companies.  In the Norwegian Sector of the North Sea, BP Amoco, Elf Petroleum and Saga Petroleum are using WorkMate to manage the operation of their offshore platforms.
In order to extend their customer base in the UK, ADB has set up a subsidiary company ADB Systems, managed by Director Ian Allen, and selected Aberdeen-based software company Absoft as their Value Added Reseller for the UK market.

Absoft Director Ian Mechie sees the link up as a strategic partnership with benefits for both parties: “I’m delighted that ADB singled out Absoft to help them address this market opportunity.  WorkMate fits in very well with our portfolio of products and services for the oil and gas industry and I look forward to the challenge of repeating the success of ADB’s Norwegian activities here in the UK.”

ADB Systemer ASA’s President and CEO in Norway, Jan Pedersen, is confident of WorkMate’s prospects: “The UK oil and gas sector is incredibly competitive and there is a continuing need to reduce costs and increase efficiency.  WorkMate offers companies the opportunity to manage their entire supply chain more effectively and increase return on investment.  It is an end-to-end solution which delivers real business benefits.”

WorkMate will be on show at Offshore Europe during 7-10 September on ADB’s stand, number 1163a.
