A business software expert will address operators and oilfield service firms at an event aimed at promoting best practice in supply chain management in the upstream oil and gas sector later this month (Thursday, 16 June).
John Timson, industry director of oil and gas across Europe, the Middle East and Africa for SAP UK, will discuss how specific supply chain challenges can be tackled using SAP’s BusinessObjects reporting tools.
The quarterly forum was founded and is hosted by Absoft, one of the leading independent SAP consultancies in the UK, and is moving to a new venue – the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
One of a series of open forum events curated by Absoft, it brings together decision makers from companies across the sector to share best practice and discuss common supply chain related challenges.
Tim Galloway at Absoft, who will facilitate the event, says: “John is an expert in his field and will be able to deliver vital information, industry analysis and advice to delegates, helping them make the most of their software investment.
“SAP BusinessObjects allows upstream oil and gas companies to quickly and easily analyse and report on real-time information about their supply chain operations. This supports decision-making and helps identify improvements that can be made in order to reduce costs and increase efficiency.”
The forum will also include a demonstration of how BusinessObjects has been used within a major oilfield services company to provide consistent group-wide reporting of expenditure, optimising budget management and control.
An informal buffet lunch will be served at 1pm. The forum runs from 1.30pm to 3.30pm in room 15/16.
