Leading figures in the oil and gas industry will lead a debate on teamwork and talent this week at one of the landmark occasions in the north-east energy calendar.
The Robert Gordon University’s 11th annual entrepreneurship dinner, sponsored by Aberdeen-based software consultancy Absoft, will feature a new-look discussion format when it is staged on Thursday (Mar 29 2007).
Three industry entrepreneurs – Energy Development Partners chairman Larry Kinch, AMEC Natural Resources chief operating officer Neil Bruce and Tritech International managing director Richard Marsh – will form a panel to address the theme of meeting the challenges of recruiting, harnessing and development talent.
The audience at the event at the Marcliffe at Pitfodels will comprise up to 100 senior business representatives.
Susan Moult, an entrepreneurship lecturer at the Robert Gordon University, said: “Companies of all sizes need to ensure that they recruit, develop and retain the right people as mistakes can prove costly. The oil and gas sector faces particular challenges in terms of international demand and an aging workforce and the University is working hard to ensure it produces graduates with the right skills to secure the long-term future of the industry”.
