Absoft has secured a deal to support Norway-based drilling consultancy and project management services firm Ross Offshore to develop systems which improve efficiencies in drilling and completion projects by up to 60%.
Ross Offshore and Absoft have combined expertise to develop an online portal optimising the performance of drilling and well operations in upstream oil and gas using SAP business software.
The portal streamlines activities and processes across projects by defining roles, responsibilities and ownership of drilling and well operations, ranging from planning equipment and service requirements, procurement, warehousing and offshore activities.
Absoft was chosen to handle the licensing and technical installation of SAP to complement Ross Offshore’s extensive experience in drilling and well operations with operators and oilfield service companies in the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
The deal is Absoft’s first license agreement in Norway. Scott Simpson, the company’s oil and gas business unit director, said: “This is a significant contract win, which strengthens our position on the Norwegian oil and gas market.”
