Specialist IT consultancy Absoft Limited has secured a six-figure support contract with a major furniture concern – the latest success in a strategic move to extend its business base in England and Wales.
The three-year contract with Norfolk-based Multiyork Furniture Ltd, comes in the wake of a series of other deals with new customers in England, and underpins Absoft’s drive to establish a non-oil and gas client portfolio on a national basis.
Aberdeen-based Absoft, one of the largest independent SAP consultancies in the UK, will provide help-desk support for Multiyork’s use of key SAP business systems covering finance, human resources, payroll, sales and distribution, materials management and production planning. As part of the contract, Absoft will also assume the role of Multiyork’s SAP reseller, managing the company’s SAP relationship and software licensing agreements.
Absoft Managing Director Ian Mechie said: “This succession of contract wins is helping to create one of the most exciting periods of growth and development for Absoft since it was set up nearly 20 years ago.
“We’ve restructured the business to form a dedicated energy business division, as well as one focused entirely on interests other than offshore oil and gas. One of the non-oil and gas team’s main objectives is to expand our existing customer base in England and Wales.
“The policy of diversification is paying big dividends for us. Our contract wins in England over the past year total over £1 million and cover a variety of industry sectors, including support deals with training sector organisation ConstructionSkills, refining and marketing concern Murco Petroleum, and Findel Education, Europe’s largest dedicated supplier of educational products.
“We’ve now got the basis for becoming further established on a nationwide basis, across a range of business sectors, and we’ll be looking to maintain that impetus over the coming year.
“Multiyork’s ethos and operating practices are an excellent match for Absoft and we are delighted to be embarking on what we hope will be a long-term partnership with it in support of its SAP systems.”
Multiyork, which uses SAP ERP 2005, is a vertically integrated high quality furniture manufacturer and retailer. Trading from a Head Office and factory operation in Thetford Norfolk and currently retailing through 62 stores nationwide, employing over 630 staff; Multiyork offers choice and quality with an ethos of exceptional customer service.
Multiyork Financial Director Adrian Iles said: “We are delighted to have secured Absoft as our SAP Support Partner. Absoft emerged successful following a very involved and detailed selection programme undertaken by Multiyork over a period of six-months”
“Not only will Absoft provide a “one-stop” solution to all our SAP Support, relationship management and licensing agreements but more importantly, we see Absoft as the “key” to help Multiyork’s Development Team unlock the full potential and benefits of the system thereby further realising our initial investment in the system.”
