Aberdeen-based IT consultancy Absoft, is celebrating after reporting a 10 per cent increase in company turnover to £3,024,661.  Profits also grew by more than five per cent between May 2003 and April 2004.
Ian Mechie, managing director of Absoft commented:
“The company has enjoyed a highly successful year, exceeding our own expectations – a significant achievement considering the challenges faced by the market during this period.
“In early 2003, the SAP market was wavering due to the uncertainty over Iraq, and a number of projects were cancelled or delayed.  A number of our competitors have had to cease trading because of the volatile market conditions, while others have been absorbed via acquisitions, but Absoft has succeeded in continuing to deliver strategic SAP solutions and high quality services,” he said.
Over the past six months, Absoft has secured a number of new contracts throughout the UK and worldwide, and has continued to build on successful relationships with existing customers.
“We have won a number of significant contracts over the past few months in both the private and public sectors for organisations including the Scottish Agricultural College, Anglia Solutions and The John Cotton Group, and will continue to build our reputation across all business sectors and expand our client base,” continued Ian Mechie.
“In order to build on these exciting projects and continue to grow the business, are implementing some changes in the company’s structure to enable us to strengthen our focus on customer requirements and develop the strategic SAP consultancy side of our business – which is experiencing high demand.  We are also expecting to grow in areas of support and Business Warehouse projects.
“One of the main changes that will be noticeable concerns my own role.  I will be taking on a more hands-on role managing the company’s SAP consultants, driving business development and developing strategic relationships with customers to help improve upon the high levels of service that our clients have come to expect.  Over the coming months we also plan to expand our business support and consultancy teams.
“In terms of the way forward for Absoft, we will continue to grow steadily and maintain our focus on customer needs and successful delivery – with the overall objective of achieving high levels of customer satisfaction,” he said.
