Absoft secures new market contracts

Scottish SAP consultancy Absoft Limited has strengthened its reputation as a specialist in SAP Human Resources and Payroll services with two new contract wins totalling nearly ÂŁ150,000.

The deals with leading European retailer Lidl and Baldor UK Ltd, designers and manufacturers of industrial electric motors, power transmission products, drives and generators, represent key steps in Absoft’s plans to develop its business outside of its established market in the oil and gas sector and are testament to Absoft’s growing reputation for high-quality HR and Payroll consultancy services.

The 30-day project for Bristol-based Baldor UK Ltd, a division of US-headquartered Baldor Electric Co which runs a global, 2,000-user SAP solution, will see Absoft implement SAP HR and Payroll locally for integration with the company’s central system. The move is in support of plans to bring outsourced payroll back in-house.

A key objective of this project is knowledge transfer, to assist with further roll-outs of the system expected in the future.

Lidl, which is headquartered in Germany and operates over 400 stores across the UK, signed Absoft up to carry out a similar implementation on a significantly larger scale, this time to replace a legacy application.

Both contracts will utilise a combination of remote access from Absoft’s offices to the client site and on-site consultancy, a key component of Absoft’s flexible approach to projects.

Absoft managing director Ian Mechie said: “It’s greatly rewarding to secure projects such as these, and see new clients in new vertical markets recognising the quality and flexibility of our SAP HR and Payroll services.”

Lidl’s personnel manager Martin Pritchard, said: “We are looking forward to implementing a standardised HR platform across the group. Absoft’s experience with UK payroll systems in combination with their experience working with multi-national clients and their flexible approach makes them the preferred partner.”

“We selected Absoft because we wanted a strong partner that would be able to work in collaboration with our internal team,” added Baldor’s financial director James Craner.
