Scottish SAP Consultancy Awarded New Contracts worth £0.5 million
Aberdeen-based SAP consultancy Absoft has been awarded 2 major contracts for remote system support and development services with a total estimated value of £0.5 million. The contracts, with Total E&P UK and the Scottish Agricultural College are amongst the largest secured by Absoft to date.
The contract with Total extends through to the end of 2004 and the Scottish Agricultural College has chosen Absoft to be its SAP partner for a period of 3 years – the longest duration of any IT support contract signed by the College.
Absoft’s Consultancy Director Susie Davison commented: “These contracts demonstrate that Absoft is the partner of choice in Scotland for SAP-related work. We have developed successful relationships with both Total and SAC over a period of several years – and these recent, significant contracts highlight the confidence of both organisations in our ability to meet their requirements over the long term.”
Absoft has worked with Total since the consultancy was established in 1991. Absoft initially assisted the oil and gas major with its first implementation of SAP and has gone on to provide support services and help develop the system, handling upgrades, the addition of new functionality and data integration projects. The new contract encompasses a substantial amount of remote support services, supplemented by some on-site support and projects.
SAC is a more recent addition to Absoft’s customer list. Having selected the supplier in 2001 to carry out some small-scale SAP development projects, the College went on to award Absoft a 15-month support contract. The 3-year agreement was awarded following a competitive tender and sees Absoft supplying a broader range of SAP support and development services to the College.
