Absoft has been awarded a six-figure contract to roll out the implementation of leading business software package SAP across the core operations of a major UK agricultural supply firm.
The £300,000 contract with Norfolk-based manufacturer J&H Bunn follows the completion of a successful pilot installation of SAP by the specialist software company in 2009.
As well as supplying fertilisers to farmers and growers across the UK, J&H Bunn also has substantial interests in offshore chemicals, road haulage, environmental disposal and agricultural contracting. It operates 12 sites between Montrose and Falmouth, including W J Reid Fertilisers Ltd of Montrose.
The new deal will see Aberdeen-headquartered Absoft provide the licensing and installation of SAP’s Baseline ERP solution, which is specifically designed for mid-market companies, to support J&H Bunn’s core finance, manufacturing, sales & distribution, procurement and logistics business functions.
The roll-out will initially focus on four of the group’s companies – Agritek, J&H Bunn, B & G Spreaders, and Spandler Bros. The system is expected to go live at all sites by the end of Q12011. Ultimately the system will be extended across the remaining companies in the group to a total of 65 users.
The contract win is the latest in a string of deals, which have contributed to one of the most exciting periods of growth in the company’s 20 year history.
