Scottish SAP consultancy Absoft Limited has reinforced its reputation as a leading specialist in the delivery of SAP consultancy and implementation services by extending its contract with UK telecommunications company THUS plc.

The £500,000 deal will see Absoft implement the SAP FI-CA contract accounts solution which forms part of an SAP telecoms industry solution that assists with consolidation of the invoicing and payment processing.  The new application aims to improve customer service, increase efficiency and reduce operating costs within the business.

The system, which has been designed specifically to meet the needs of the telecommunications sector, will allow for standardisation of payment processing and debt management across the organisation. It will eliminate the need to support multiple applications and allow the integration of additional business which THUS may acquire in the future with minimal development work and effort.

Absoft managing director Ian Mechie said: “We are delighted to have extended the successful partnership which has existed between Absoft and THUS since 2004. The award of this contract reflects our commitment to providing the most efficient, flexible and technologically advanced services to our customers, designed specifically to meet the needs of whichever sector they are operating in.”

Bill Milne, Financial Controller at THUS plc, said “This solution provides THUS with the platform to consolidate billing and sales ledger information and to further improve cash, banking and debt management functionality from a single source.  SAP FI-CA will integrate with our existing SAP Purchase Ledger and General Ledger platforms.  Absoft were selected following a detailed review of options and we look forward to working with them over the coming months.”
